Using SEADS AI
SEADS AI gives you the best AI models in one place, under the rules your organization chose. This guide shows you how to sign in, chat, work with documents and assistants, and look after your account.
Signing in
- Open SEADS AI and choose Sign in with SEADS.
- Sign in with your SEADS account. It is the same account for every SEADS product.
- If your organization asks for two step sign in, you are asked for your second step too.
New here? Use the same button. You create your SEADS account, accept the terms, then choose your plan or, if you were invited, join your organization.
SEADS AI keeps no password for you. Your password, two step sign in and account recovery are managed in your SEADS account. To change them, open Security settings in your account menu and follow the link to your SEADS account.
If you use the email address of another SEADS account in the same browser, SEADS continues with the account already open. To use another one, sign out of SEADS first or open a private window.
Joining your organization from an invitation
- Open the invitation email and choose the button in it. The page shows the business that invited you and who sent the invitation.
- Choose Accept and create my SEADS account, or I already have a SEADS account: sign in. Use the email address the invitation was sent to.
- Confirm your name, add your job title and phone if you wish, and accept the terms.
- Choose Join followed by your organization's name. You are in.
Your seat is on your organization's plan, so there is nothing to pay and no plan to choose.
If you see "You have joined" with a message that your seat is waiting for payment, your organization has no free paid seat yet. You do not need to do anything. You get access as soon as an owner or administrator pays for the seat.
An invitation that has expired or was replaced no longer works. Ask the person who invited you to send it again.
Chatting
- Choose New chat.
- Type your message in the box at the bottom and press Send, or press Enter.
- The answer appears as it is written. You can keep typing your next message while it arrives.
Under each answer you can:
- Copy the answer.
- Regenerate it to get another version.
- Mark it as a Good answer or a Poor answer. Your rating helps your organization see what works.
- Download it as a document (the page icon), when your plan includes documents: Word, slides, and PDF where it is offered. With the Bloom and Harvest plans you also choose your organization's brand or plain.
Answers come from AI models and can be wrong. Check important information before you rely on it.
Choosing a model
The model picker sits in the row under the message box.
- SEADS One chooses a suitable model for each request. Simple requests go to lighter models, harder ones to stronger models, and a request for an image goes to an image model.
- Your organization may also let you pick a model by name. Some organizations offer only SEADS One.
- If your organization turned it on, each answer shows Answered by and the model that wrote it.
Your conversations
Your conversations are listed under History, grouped by day. Use Search conversations to find one. Your organization decides how long conversations are kept after their last message.
Images
Ask for an image in plain words, for example "Draw a poster for our market day". While the image is made you see a placeholder in its shape, then the image appears. Image generation depends on your organization's plan.
Working with documents
Attaching a document to a conversation
- Choose Attach a document (the paper clip).
- Pick a PDF, Word, text or Markdown file of up to 25 MB.
- Ask your question about it.
A document stays in that conversation only. It is never added to your company's knowledge. A conversation can hold five documents. The text of attached documents is sent with every message in the conversation, so it counts toward your usage.
Scanned pages and pictures cannot be attached to a conversation yet. An administrator can add them to Knowledge, where they are read.
Using company knowledge
Your organization can add its own documents to Knowledge. To use them:
- Turn on Use company knowledge in the row under the message box.
- Ask your question.
- The answer shows its Sources: the documents and passages it drew from.
You only ever receive passages from documents you are allowed to read. To see the sources available to you, open Knowledge in the sidebar.
Assistants
Assistants are ready made helpers your organization sets up: for example one for customer emails, or one that knows your policies. Each has its own instructions, and may use company knowledge and approved skills.
- Open Assistants in the sidebar.
- Choose an assistant and start a conversation with it.
If the list is empty, your organization has not created any yet. Ask your administrator.
When something stops you
SEADS AI checks your organization's rules before anything goes to a model. You may see:
- Sensitive data. If your message looks like it contains a card number, a password, an identity number or a term your company treats as confidential, it may be sent with a warning, partly hidden, or not sent at all. Your organization chooses which.
- Usage limits. When you approach your allowance for the period you see a notice. When it is used up, your request may be answered by a lighter model, or stopped until the next period. Your administrator can raise the limit.
- A model you cannot use. Choose another model, or SEADS One.
- A paused subscription. If your organization's subscription is not active, AI requests are paused until an owner or administrator chooses a plan.
Usage this month, in your account menu, shows how much of your allowance you have used.
Your account
At the top right of every screen:
- The language control switches between English and French in one tap. It shows the language you move to.
- The sun or moon switches between the Light and Dark appearance.
- Your name opens the account menu.
The account menu holds:
- Usage this month: how much of your allowance you have used, and any free credits left.
- Your organizations, when you belong to more than one. Choose one to move to it. Your last choice is remembered. If it asks for two step sign in and your current one does not, you sign in again to open it.
- Create my personal organization, to have your own space next to your work one. A person can own one free organization.
- Profile: your name, display name, job title, phone, time zone, preferred language and photo. To change your sign in email, contact support.
- Security settings: your SEADS account link, two step sign in, and Phones signed in: each phone where the SEADS AI app stays signed in. If a phone is lost or stolen, choose End on its line from any computer; that phone must sign in again. Security settings also hold Delete my SEADS account, which opens the SEADS page where you delete your account for every SEADS product.
- Sign out. You are signed out of SEADS AI and of your SEADS account in this browser.
Deleting your SEADS account
- Open Security settings in your account menu and choose Delete my SEADS account.
- On the SEADS page, sign in, read what happens, and type DELETE to confirm.
Your account is switched off at once and deleted after 14 days. To keep it, sign in with SEADS within those 14 days and choose Continue. Your personal organization closes, what you created in a business stays with that business, and invoices are kept without your name. If you are the only owner of a business that has other members, make someone else an owner first.
Getting help
Kalan, the SEADS AI assistant. Choose the round Help button at the bottom right of any screen. A panel opens over the page; it never opens by itself, and Escape closes it. Kalan is an AI, not a person, and says so if you ask. It answers from these guides and shows the guide it used under each answer, and, when you are signed in, from your own plan and seats. It can be wrong. Never type a password, a card number, a confirmation code or a PIN into it: a message that looks like one is not sent.
Leaving a question for the team. For anything Kalan cannot answer, or when you would rather have a person, choose Prefer to talk to a person? Leave your question under the message box. Write your question and, if you are not signed in, your email address; a person from the SEADS team will reply by email. You are told before you send: We'll share this conversation with our support team. Card numbers, passwords and keys in it are hidden before it leaves. If Kalan has answered a lot of questions that day, it says it is resting until tomorrow and this form is what you use. A person from the team is never shown as Kalan.
If something does not work as this guide describes, write to your organization's administrator first. For your account or a payment, write to SEADS support.
